Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is a therapeutic program that provides support, education and counseling to people in need. We serve adults with major mental illness diagnosis, including depression, bipolar and anxiety disorders and adults with alcohol and drug dependence including prescription drugs, cocaine and opiate abuse. We treat mental illness and substance abuse together as a co-occurring illness. View PDF brochure.

Our IOP program meets the requirements for DEEP ( Driver Education and Evaluation Program). The program is offered for people with one or more alcohol-or other drug-related motor vehicle offenses. If you have an OUI (operating under influence) charge or conviction and you are required to be in treatment, IOP can help.

Personalized support and treatment

In IOP, you will learn new skills and ways to manage and improve your daily living (work, home, and family). Group therapy (as compared to individual therapy alone) offers the opportunity to hear from others who have similar experiences. Other benefits of IOP include developing a concentrated level of skills and education, and the opportunity to make lasting changes in a shorter period of time. Our outcome studies show that our patients experience a significant reduction in their negative symptoms within a two-week timeframe. When you admit to IOP, we are able to work closely with your individual therapist and psychiatrist in the community while you participate in our program. This helps to ensure continuity of care. And, when it is time to discharge, we will carefully develop a personal plan of action for you that may include outpatient therapy, aftercare services or alumni support programming — if you desire.
